Easy Mental Stimulation At Home: How To Fold A DIY "Stingray" Snuffle Puzzle for Your Dog

Towels are one of the easiest and most inexpensive items that you can use when it comes to enrichment. Let's face it, we all have a stockpile of spares in the back of our closet, and they're so dang easy to clean! Not to mention, the possibilities are endless. Why we love snuffle activities:

  • They encourage slower eating habits.

  • Sniffing and foraging activities release dopamine into the brain (the happy brain chemical!).

  • Decrease stress.

  • Great form of mental stimulation.

  • Wonderful option for all dogs, but can be a great enrichment introduction for senior, fearful, and nervous dogs.

The Stingray Snuffle


All you'll need:

  • 1 large bath towel

  • 1 medium hand towel

  • Treats of choice

Time to assemble: 3 minutes.

Difficulty Level: Medium difficulty.


Tip: Never be afraid to offer help should your dog need it. If your dog likes to pick up towels & shake them, try placing a weighted toy or two in the middle of the puzzle to ground it.
